Prosecutors are seeking an adult sentence for a 16 year-old facing a second-degree murder charge in relation to the death of a teenager in Halifax.
The 16 year-old was charged on Monday and is the third youth on trial in the homicide case involving Ahmad Maher Al Marrach.
Two 14-year-olds, a boy and a girl, are also charged with second-degree murder and prosecutors are taking a similar approach if they are convicted.
Al Marrach was found badly injured in a parking lot near the Halifax Shopping Centre on April 22 and later died in hospital.
All three charged will be back in youth court on May 13.
